El Chicano Music. Latin music for the soul. El Chicano legendary latino music group has been on the music scene since 1970 nominated "Best Jazz Group of the Year" 1970 with their hit record "Viva Tirado" a song written by Jazz great Gerald Wilson as a tribute to a bullfighter Ramon Tirado. El Chicano took the song and gave it a groove with their own style and it became a major hit in all markets with the exception of country western. Making El Chicano a major concert and recording artist into the 80's when the music scene changed they stopped making records for awhile but continued to tour worldwide and have performed with many major stars of the music world. Now have come full circle and are currently producing some new music and are back on tour popular as ever with "Original Members" performing for the baby boomer generation who remember all the great music this group has released over all these years. Once again they are back and it can be said "Viva El Chicano"
